BE UNAPOLOGETICALLY. . . .YOU | Set Yourself Free by Being True to Yourself!

Updated: Mar 4

If you needed a reminder. . . . here it is. . . . You do not need to receive permission, nor approval, to express your individuality and dance to the drum sound, of your own beat, to your life. Below are my "Top Tips to live unapologetically, and simply be True to YOU!

Authenticity is very under-rated in today's world, even though I hear more people talking about it, but somehow, many still feel the inward pull to follow trends, imitate people and do what is popular to feel accepted.  Authenticity is more than just telling people you keep it real. It is truly about being honest with yourself! Being truly an Authentic person becomes possible when you know what's important to you and you decide to live it! It is truly only about the individual person.

"Being True to You. . . means erasing the gap that lives in your thoughts, between what you firmly believe inside of yourself and what you reveal to the outside world."
Quote: Adam Grant

Before you can truly feel free and really move in the power of yourself. . . you must truly seek to discover who you are at your core. To learn which parts of you are truly YOU, and which part of you could just possibly, be a mimic of another person's mannerism and behaviors that you have adopted into you. . . as yourself. If you feel you do not truly know yourself or what makes you tick, get assistance on your pathway forward and seek out a Certified Coach or Mentor to guide you on your shift of vibration as you go toward personal Self-Discovery.

"At the center of setting yourself free to be truly authentic
is to have the Courage to be imperfect, vulnerable and to set boundaries for your life!"
"A choice to be honest."
"A choice to allow your true Inner-Light of Self be seen and felt by others."
 Quote: Brené Brown

Tip No. 1:

Serve an Eviction on the Thought

You Need to Appear Perfect

Some thoughts and mindsets are simply old and outdated. Your version of excellency is good enough. Know that when you do not feel the need to appear perfect in your thinking, actions or mannerisms, you are in the position to be real and honest with yourself and the outside world. Avoid putting on a mask or a type of costume you wear of who you are NOT truly on the inside. Know when it is time to serve an eviction notice on thoughts and behaviors that no longer fit with who you are today or are growing into. As individuals age, so should your mind-set. It is okay to walk a life different from others. Clear out old and outdated traits and behaviors . . . they must be evicted out of your life if you are to grow . . . they got to go! Remember this is your life's journey live it to your liking.

Tip No. 2:

Find the True Essence of You

Decide that it is time to make a shift and act on it.  Start with getting rid of things in your closet, in your wardrobe that you do not wear and then your home. Look around your home and purge things that you don't resonate with you anymore. Donate it or give it away. Note the things you decide to keep. This part is important, as those things you choose to keep will be a representation of your preferences and your true self, of the today you, and not the you that you were 10 years ago, 5 years ago or even 1 year ago.

Overtime, you will begin to find your true essence by stripping away the non-essential items you have especially if you haven't looked at these items in a long while. Only keep the things that mean the most to you.

Tip No. 3:

Toss Out the "Simon Says" Mindset

Break free from the "Mind-Set Matrix" of this world. Being "unapologetically you", allows for you to feel free to make your own choices. Some will say, "I make my own choices", or "I am not influenced by anyone". I then say to you, we are all influenced on some level, but do not necessarily realize that many of those choices have been due to wanting to be accepted by peers, family, co-workers and the world. Most people simply do not explore other options of new ways to approach an issue or direction in life. Most individuals have simply just went with the flow of the acceptable thought-pattern of society. Remember, you have free-will, you get to CHOOSE, what is acceptable and not acceptable for your individual self.  Living more authentically, will allow you to live a life on your own terms and dance to the beat of your own drum. No more "Simon Says" living, simply "do you", with grace and determination. If you need a guide on your path to self-awareness you may contact Coach Sheila for guidance.

Tip No. 4:

Know your Values & Live by Them

If you know you already live by your values and live by them consistently, you are already doing well in the authenticity department. I applaud you for being true to yourself!! If not, maybe you may want to take some time to explore why you are not making your personal values a priority. Be willing to live your values. Your values are a "non-negotiable" aspect for your life!  If you aren't sure where to start and would like to schedule a complimentary clarity session, please reach out to Coach Sheila who is a Certified Thought-Life Coach and Mentor to assist you on your journey to think forward now.

Tip No. 5:

Learn to be Okay with Not Being Liked

This is a big one because, most people want to belong, to be liked and it is a basic human desire. However, when you live a more authentic life and begin to shift and change your perspective on what you value, you may find that people in your life may not understand your change. Just know that they will get used to it overtime. It is simply new to them and not many people are comfortable with change they don't understand and\or practice themselves. The shift in your thinking and actions, coupled with a rejection of outdated mindsets and beliefs, will start to manifest and become noticeable in new ways. Embrace the vulnerability of setting boundaries for yourself. Be willing to risk being disliked, it will give you the power to say No. Remember, when you say Yes and\or No, to anything, you are shaping your future, so choose your responses thoughtfully.  Creating boundaries are essential for your well-being. When you grow in your comfortability of being alright with not being liked by everyone, it allows you to be true to yourself. Embrace your uniqueness and express yourself genuinely. YOLO

Recognizing and expressing your true self allows you to understand your strength and weaknesses leading to more healthy and honest relationships where you are yourself. Ultimately, you will vibrate higher and will attract more like-minded people into your life who will really appreciate your style of experiencing your essence in the world. No pretense, no fluff, just go with the flow of what works for you and let go of what doesn't resonate with your life anymore. Set yourself free to be just YOU.

Life becomes easier when you're living true to yourself in an authentic way of being in this world. Just being you. Stand on being you. Flaws and all!

Eventually, you will no longer feel the need to protect yourself from the opinions, attitudes and personalities of others in order to please them.

Stand on being you and set yourself free!

You got this! I am rooting for you!
